Space-time clock
installation
2024
Light installation
Technique: microcontroller, LED matrix display, 3D-printed parts
Dimensions: 0.4m x 0.4m x 0.025m
The counters of the installation represent our continuous movement through the dimensions of space and time, which also resonates with the exhibition's subtitle—Continuously Changing Coordinates. We are never at the same point in the Universe, even if the landscapes we traverse may seem familiar.
The counters displayed during the exhibition show three values:
- The average distance covered by our solar system during the galaxy’s rotation around its axis, in kilometers.
- The Earth's average orbital movement around the Sun, in kilometers.
- The passage of terrestrial time in hundredths of a second.
Through the rapid changes in the counters, the viewer can sense the significant movements we are continuously experiencing in the Universe.
