This work uses the imaging principle of the Nipkow disk, a component of the mechanical television, the earliest wireless device used to relay moving images. The main achievement of this early-20th-century device is that it could broadcast programmes to remote places wirelessly, by means of radio signals. The structure of the Nipkow disk enabled the projection of a low-resolution image on the screen, consisting of just a few dozen lines.
The imaging and projecting systems are combined here, creating an electro-mechanical mirror. This way we see a projection of ourselves, as reflected by this technical medium.
